blackberry surprise

well, apparently there’s a better way to blog (i’m trying to determine this as i use this site) compared with google blogger. but i’m finding that it is almost way too complex for a simple guy like me. i’m also trying to figure out if our intranet is slow or if wordpress.com is chronically slow. even using this interface for adding a new post is kind of complicated – again compared with the ‘bare bones’ google blogger. but sometimes complexity is great…IF you know how to manage it!

this post comes about an hour after realizing that after trying to update my blackberry curve 8320 to the latest 4.5.x software version, my blackberry no longer works. funny how the notion of ‘if it works, don’t fix it’ comes to play. so as i type this, i wait for the latest desktop software to come to the desktop (total of 192mb)…and right now our work intranet trudges at ‘honu’ pace. i’ll have to copy all of the backup data from earlier today and bring it home tonight and attempt to restore…what was already working!!! sometimes being an engineer is crippling…we always want to tweak and upgrade everything.

p.s. – does anyone know how to import an old google blogger entry and keep the original times and dates? anyone? mahalo in advance!

  1. I think it is time to upgrade to the Blackberry Storm, or if you want a qwerty, a Blackberry Bold!

  2. yeah, the BB bold looks really nice! ever use it? i wonder if it’s just a nicer looking curve?

    p.s. – just linked your site to mine… (:

  3. The snowflakes on your background…a little, how you say, well, you know.

Blackberry Bold and Curve are cool. If you use your phone a lot for typing messages/emails, there’s no better alternative. If you use the internet, you want a Bold for the 3G.

    I have a Pearl. I don’t type though. I just call people.

I don’t agree. Sometimes, latest is better. In this case you might have a point. Yeah, the BB software is huge, it’s crazy. Also, I wanted to make my own theme for my phone, and I had to download an additional 500mb of software to do it. Insane! My theme is awesome, though.

Seriously, you need to get rid of the snowflakes.
