since rie has been spending some extra time at work in preparation for her next AIA module, i have been picking my martin guitar back up.

i’m noticing several key things over the past few days while playing. my comfort level when playing with a pick has been improving. i was so used to playing my ukulele with a long index fingernail. but now i’m feeling better day by day when trying to do more complex strumming patterns. the other element i’m finding really fun and enjoyable is singing independently of the struming rather than hooking the stresses of the words with the strum. it often makes you sound very choppy and dominated by the guitar.
