cooking has been something i’ve really enjoyed. i used to help my mom out when i was smaller (i’m not that big now…so smaller means younger). i like watching cooking shows when i ever do get a chance to sit in front of the TV. i only watch the NBA, NCAA Basketball and Football, and cooking shows.
well, due to the current economic crisis we’re apparently in, cooking our breakfast/lunch/dinner is very desirable. save money, eat healthy, and have fun making it. and to top it off, i’ve found someone who enjoys it even more than me! rie enjoys cooking and i enjoy helping her out in the kitchen. i don’t exactly know what i’m always doing in the kitchen…but at least i’m there to help right?! hey, i didn’t say i’m a great cook, i just said that i enjoy cooking – there’s a HUGE difference.
last night we made dinner using the pressure cooker. *read an old post below on how great it is!* we made beef stew this time and it turned out perfect! you may find kind of strange that i keep bragging about this – but until you get one, you’ll never know how great a device it is.
anyway, the main point of this entry is to talk about how our cooking has increased at home since this depression has hit the entire world. i now bring lunch to work everyday except for the days we are provided lunch from the seminars and monthly company lunches. well not exactly every day – wednesdays the gang here at work gets together for lunch…typically korean or vietnamese food. speaking of the wednesday lunches, we ate at a cambodian restaurant in long beach. it was the first time trying frog. NO THANK YOU! tastes like chicken, but once you hear the ribbit noises in your head…it’s time to put the leg down and move to the next entree. in all my years of working, i think i’ve brought lunch to work in the past two months more often that the last 9 years of work combined!
Agreed, eating in will save money, even if it is just small potatoes. Since I’ve been working here in Lakewood I go home for lunch and make myself a sandwich. Not only is it easy but it is also healthy and cheap. I also have leftovers from the night before.
Cambodian food is great, although I have never had frog. When we were in Cambodia and Thailand the food was just amazing – I took about 50 photos of all the food we ate!
